Let’s Buy the Domain
Now that we’ve decided on the website domain, let’s secure it before someone else does. I asked Claude which domain registrar is good, and it recommended Cloudflare Registrar.

Among international providers, GoDaddy is the most famous and cheap for the first year with promotions, but it’s not recommended because you must sign multi-year contracts and renewal costs spike significantly from year 2.
To run a website, SSL certificate (https URL) implementation is essential, and Cloudflare Registrar includes this option in the domain registration fee by default. This makes it more affordable compared to other providers that offer SSL as a paid option.

There are Korean domain providers too, but they’re all more expensive than Cloudflare. Considering cost and developer-friendliness, I purchased the domain from Cloudflare Registrar for about $10 for one year of registration.

What If Classics or What If Classic?
There’s a story behind why I ended up buying both whatifclassics.com and whatifclassic.com. Originally, I planned to use whatifclassic.com and purchased that domain first. When I asked Google Search’s AI mode, it said the domain without the s was better.

But Claude said the opposite—whatifclassics.com is better.

Even Google’s Gemini agrees with Claude. Both Google Search and Gemini are made by Google, yet they give opposite answers.

The best approach, even if it costs more, is to secure both domains and redirect traffic from the secondary domain (whatifclassic.com) to the main domain (whatifclassics.com). This prevents anyone else from using a similar domain and ensures users reach the correct site even if they forget to type the final s.
That’s how I ended up purchasing both domains.
Let’s Secure Social Network Accounts Too
While securing domains, I also created social platform accounts for content marketing. Among various social platforms, Claude recommends TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts—all platforms hot for short-form video content.

Using the new Gmail account I created for this project, I made accounts on each social platform. I had personal accounts on other platforms, but this was my first time creating a TikTok account. I also generated and uploaded a profile image with AI.

While I was at it, I also created accounts on Threads and X (Twitter). To consistently post content across these channels, I’ll need to introduce an automation system, but I’ll think about that later…
With the domain and social channels ready, it’s time to start building the initial version of the What If Classics site in earnest.
To be continued…
